J. Robert Oppenheimer quote above, originally from the Bhagavad Gita, a Hindu sacred text. Oppenheimer reportedly said it after witnessing the terrible power of the first atomic bomb test. The full quote is: "If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one. Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
I've got the first four volumes of the comic planned now. Each volume will hopefully consist of a 3 comic arc. I also have plans for a tie-in comic set within the InStelFed Navy, which we wont see much of in the mainstream, but they are some pretty cool characters, so they'll pop in here and there. Without further ado, here's the plan:
Volume 1: Dercius- Dercius is a planet of rock and well, rock. Think the more mountainous regions of the American Southwest and you've got the picture. Dercius is also rich in trycinium ore, which is one of the rarest materials needed to house starship reactors. Unfortunately, the planet was lost to the nuevo-fascist after the collpase of the Second Systems League, and remains one of the few worlds held tightly in their control. Which is where our boys and girls come in. InStelFed wants that planet, and the Reich troops arent going to give it up without fighting for every inch. Looks like its going to be one hell of a party...
Volume 2: Neeman's World- If beaver's go to heaven, heaven looks like Neeman's. The entire planet has been taken over by thick forests, from saplings seeded by humans during the Exodus. The trees moved in and displaced the native growth, effectively exterminating them through numbers. Heavy nightly rainfall and daily sunbathing have created massive forest systems. Neeman's is also home to a secret sniper training facility for InStelFed. Trouble is, it's not so secret anymore. Hired mercs, and the best units from various stellar nations have descended on Neeman's, determined to get rid of the dreaded "Psnyper" operatives. They've sent their top marksmen with orders to wipe out the school. Fortunately, a certain ship was in transit, to pick up thei own psnyper from her yearly exa. Can you guess who they are?
Volume 3: Hyperia, and Volume 4: Ventura will be airborne operations and a cityfight, respectively. More on those as I flesh them out.
